After the entire period of preparations, the 49th World Military Orienteering Championship officially began. On the afternoon of Friday, November 18th, the opening ceremony of the championship was held at the VF-1 Hangar, at the Naval Air Base of São Pedro da Aldeia (BAeNSPA).
Admiral of Squadron Fernando Ant ônio Siqueira Ribeiro, Commander General of the Marine Corps, Air Brigadier Ricardo Machado Vieira, Secretary of Personnel, Education, Health and Sports of the Ministry of Defense, and Vice Admiral (FN) Paulo Martino Zuccaro, President of the Brazilian Military Sport Commission (CDMB).
On the same day, the athletes participated in a training course in Arraial do Cabo and knew the area where the competitions will be held. In addition, the mission chiefs attended a welcome lunch.
There is some time left for Brazil to host another major international event.
The 49th World Military Orienteering Championship (49th WMOC) is already taking place in Região dos Lagos arena.
The 49th WMOC will be held between November 18th and 23rd in São Pedro D 'Aldeia, Armação de Buzios and Arraial do Cabo.
Military teams are in action, organizing the locations where athletes will stay, eat and compete. Everything to receive them very well.
